Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of dining room or restaurant wait staff experience
  • knowledge of food handling and safety standards
  • strong organization and time management skills

  • ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide a high level of courteous, compassionate customer service and promote a restaurant-style personalized dining atmosphere
  • work closely with the food service director to promote resident satisfaction by communicating concerns, suggestions and compliments
  • create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among staff
  • assist new residents by familiarizing them with menus, seating, dining options and hours
  • be understanding and compassionate to the challenges residents, families or guests may face
  • set tables in accordance with standards
  • serve beverages as requested
  • be familiar with daily menus and changes
  • review menus with dining patrons, answer questions, record and deliver meal orders accurately and timely
  • remove used plates, utensils, glasses and linens as needed
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitization of dining areas and equipment
  • respond to resident, family or guest comments or concerns with respect and communicate to food service director
  • accept direction from designated shift supervisor when food service director is absent
  • work assigned shifts with timely arrival and departure
  • follow protocols, policies and practices established by HallKeen Assisted Living and others
  • perform other duties as assigned
