Sedgebrook is currently seeking a dedicated and hospitality-focused Dining Room Supervisor to join its compassionate team. This full-time, non-exempt position entails working Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours a week. Offering a competitive hourly wage between $21.00 and $23.00 based on experience, the Dining Room Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing all mealtime service operations within the Dining Room and Bistro. The supervisor ensures that residents, guests, and staff receive an exceptional dining experience through adherence to high standards of service, cleanliness, and sanitation. Duties include managing food portioning, maintaining attractive plate presentations, and ensuring that all meals meet specific dietary requirements.
In addition to operational oversight, the Dining Room Supervisor assists in employee scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, providing support for corrective actions when necessary. The role also requires effective communication and collaboration with managers, supervisors, and staff to maintain a seamless dining service operation. The supervisor is responsible for supervising opening and closing procedures, operating and training staff on POS systems, and supporting the setup of special resident and staff events. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year relevant experience in dining room or food service including service and sanitation
- Ability to operate and train on POS system
- Ability to supervise large dining staff
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to assist in staff scheduling and training
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one year experience of dining room or food service, including service and sanitation
- Ability to operate and train employees on POS system
- Ability to supervise large dining staff
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- Serv-Safe sanitation certification preferred
- Great leadership skills including the ability to develop and lead a team, work individually, and support and communicate manager directives to staff
Job Duties
- Delivers a positive dining experience for all residents, guests, and staff
- Ensures proper portioning of food, attractive plate presentation and service of required diets for meals, nourishments, and snacks
- Assists in scheduling and training of staff, and providing input for evaluations and corrective actions of staff, if necessary
- Maintains effective communication with managers, supervisors, subordinates, and all other colleagues
- Assists in supervision of opening and closing of dining services operation
- Operates and trains employees on POS systems
- Helps with set up of special resident and staff events
