Job Requirements

  • Have at least a high school diploma/GED preferred
  • have a minimum of three months previous experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for 100 percent of the workday
  • ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs independently
  • ability to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs independently
  • ability to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday
  • effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • ability to work cooperatively with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers
  • empathy for the elderly
  • follow all sanitary guidelines and health regulations
  • respond promptly and professionally to management requests
  • maintain professional conduct and appearance
  • get shift coverage if unable to work scheduled shift
  • call in two hours before shift in case of emergency
  • provide doctors note if shift not covered when sick
  • adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality policies
  • complete all side duties before shift ends
  • conduct self respectfully to management and co-workers
  • answer Skylight order phone if ringing
  • set up, serve, and break down all scheduled caterings assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Have at least a high school diploma/GED preferred

  • ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers
  • empathy for the elderly
  • ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests

Job Duties

  • Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order
  • takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
  • clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
  • answers pertinent questions about menu items
  • assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes, if needed
  • assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and their guests
  • advises the Restaurant Manager regarding dining room status
  • sets up all catering events and cleans up after all catering events
  • completes all assigned cleaning tasks
  • maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
  • attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
