Located in the vibrant city of San Francisco, the club offers a unique blend of maritime tradition, elite membership, and high-quality dining experiences. The club has built a strong reputation over more than 150 years as a premier destination for sailing enthusiasts and those who appreciate a rich maritime culture coupled with luxurious amenities. The San Francisco Yacht Club prides itself on fostering a welcoming and exclusive environment where members can enjoy world-class yachting activities, social events, and fine dining in an elegant setting.
We are seeking a dedicated Dining Room Server to join our team. This full-time position offers an hourly pay range of $16.90 to $18.00, dependent on experience, supplemented by service charges. In addition to competitive compensation, full-time employees receive paid time off, paid holidays, comprehensive healthcare benefits, and participation in a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the server plays a vital role in enhancing the overall member experience within the club's dining and bar areas. The Dining Room Server is responsible for delivering professional, knowledgeable, and friendly service to members and their guests, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable and exceeds expectations.
This role demands a deep understanding of the menu, including recipes and ingredients, as well as familiarity with wines and spirits to provide insightful recommendations. The ideal candidate will be adept at timing the service of each course impeccably and will be attuned to members' preferences, learning their names and individual tastes to personalize service. Responsibilities include preparing side stations, attending daily pre-shift meetings, managing food and beverage service from the moment guests arrive until the final farewell, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining room and bus stations.
The Dining Room Server must adhere to all service standards and legal requirements related to the service of alcoholic beverages. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, often in varying indoor and outdoor conditions. This role is integral to preserving the high standards and traditions of the San Francisco Yacht Club while delivering an exceptional hospitality experience that aligns with the club’s values and reputation.
