Job Description
The San Francisco Yacht Club, established in 1869, is renowned for its exceptional yachting facilities and longstanding tradition of providing a premier nautical experience to its members. Located in one of the most scenic maritime regions, the club has become a prestigious institution where members and their guests can enjoy top-tier amenities, social events, and dining experiences in an elegant and welcoming environment. The club prides itself on fostering a community atmosphere while maintaining the highest standards of service and hospitality. Its rich history, combined with modern facilities, makes it a standout organization within the yachting and local social scenes.
As a Dining Room Server at the San Francisco Yacht Club, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the member and guest experience within the dining and bar areas. This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $16.90 to $18.00, depending on experience, along with service charges. Employees benefit from paid time off, paid holidays, healthcare benefits, and a 401(k) plan featuring employer matching contributions, emphasizing the club's commitment to employee wellbeing.
In this role, you will be expected to provide professional, knowledgeable, and friendly service that reflects the club's prestige and dedication to excellence. You will serve as the first point of contact in the dining area, welcoming members and guests, and ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously. Your responsibilities will include preparing side stations, attending pre-shift meetings, managing food and beverage orders, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas. You will also be required to possess in-depth knowledge of the menu, including recipes and ingredients, as well as an understanding of wines and spirits to better assist members in their selections.
The position demands a strong focus on timing and attention to detail to provide a seamless dining experience. You will be expected to learn members' names and preferences to personalize service effectively, contributing to the welcoming and exclusive atmosphere of the club. Additionally, compliance with local and state alcohol service laws and club policies is mandatory to ensure a safe and responsible environment.
Physical demands involve standing for extended periods, walking, climbing stairs, and performing tasks that require bending, stretching, and reaching. The role also requires the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions. The club values employees who can maintain professional composure in busy, dynamic environments while consistently delivering high service standards.
The San Francisco Yacht Club is committed to equal opportunity employment and prohibits discrimination or harassment on any protected basis. This commitment extends across all employment terms and conditions, fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is respected and celebrated. Joining the San Francisco Yacht Club as a Dining Room Server offers not only a chance to work in a prestigious setting but also the opportunity to develop your skills in hospitality within a supportive and well-structured environment.
