Job Requirements

  • Must be age 16 or older
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language

Job Qualifications

  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents
  • Follow state food-handling and kitchen regulations
  • Operation of basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn
  • Working 3-3.75 hours per shift standing, walking, and moving about without the need to sit down
  • Willingness to learn and help others
  • Enjoyment in working with older adults
  • Some experience in food service is preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout all aspects of the dining experience
  • Provide customer service to residents to allow high level of resident satisfaction while serving meals
  • Set tables for upcoming meals and reset for the following meal
  • Inform residents what foods are available on the day’s menu
  • Address residents by name and their food beverage likes and dislikes
  • Prepare beverages before meals and serve beverage of choice to each resident
  • Keep water glasses and coffee cups and/or carafes filled
  • Clear tables, as needed, throughout meal and bus tables after the meal is finished
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel
  • Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
  • Other duties as assigned
