As a Dining Room Manager at Gustav’s, you will assume a hands-on leadership role in a busy, fast-paced dining room environment. Your primary focus will be to support and lead the front-of-house team in delivering memorable guest experiences that honor the restaurant’s traditions and hospitality standards. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and passionate about the restaurant industry and hospitality. You will be responsible for overseeing daily dining room operations, ensuring smooth service flow, and maintaining high quality standards. Your leadership will shape the culture within the dining room, inspiring your team to perform at their best. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure a seamless and authentic dining experience for all guests. The role involves multifaceted responsibilities, including supporting the General Manager with scheduling, training, inventory management, and other day-to-day operational tasks. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of restaurant management experience preferably in scratch kitchen or full-service restaurant
  • proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop staff
  • strong communication skills
  • capable of handling multiple priorities calmly
  • availability to work full-time including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • passion for hospitality and guest service
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in restaurant management with 3-5 plus years ideally in a scratch kitchen or full-service environment
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
  • excellent organizational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge or appreciation of German cuisine and beer is a plus
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Lead daily operations overseeing the flow of the dining room from greeting guests to managing service and keeping everything running smoothly
  • create memorable guest experiences by bringing Gustav’s traditions to life and ensuring guests feel welcome and eager to return
  • develop and inspire the team by coaching, mentoring, and supporting front-of-house staff while fostering a culture of pride, teamwork, and continuous learning
  • collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to maintain strong communication that ensures authentic German cuisine and seamless service
  • maintain tradition with quality by upholding Gustav’s signature recipes and service style while embracing opportunities to innovate
  • support the General Manager with scheduling, training, inventory, and day-to-day operations to ensure efficient restaurant performance
