Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent
- Two to three years related experience or training
- Current ServSafe Certification
- Holds required food handling and sanitation licenses
- Outgoing and cheerful personality
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or nights
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Willingness to engage in physical tasks and interact with residents and staff
- Ability to handle exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and chemical or biological hazards
- Must be capable of using hands and arms to perform duties
- Ability to talk, hear, and see comfortably
- Willingness to travel occasionally
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Two to three years of related experience or training
- Current ServSafe Certification
- Knowledge of local, state, and county food handling and sanitation regulations
- Strong decision-making skills with ability to apply guidelines and solve problems
- Extensive knowledge of dining room functions and organizational operations
- Outgoing and cheerful personality
- Energetic, friendly, and well-organized
- Ability to work effectively with older adults
- Ability to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Job Duties
- Manage daily dining room, room service, and convenience store operations
- Assign wait staff to sections and side work
- Inspect staff work for quality completion
- Ensure timely delivery of room service orders
- Oversee smooth opening and closing of dining facilities
- Ensure adequate staffing and coverage for each shift
- Oversee resident billing for food services
- Assist in creating weekly staff schedules within budget guidelines
- Lead training for new dining associates and ongoing sessions
- Supervise special dining events
- Provide support during mealtimes as needed
- Assist with greeting and seating residents and guests
- Participate in hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating staff according to policy
- Maintain resident request log and communicate with culinary leadership
