Job Description
Highgate is a premier real estate investment and hospitality management company widely recognized as an innovator in the hospitality industry. With a dominant presence in key U.S. gateway markets such as New York, Boston, Miami, San Francisco, and Honolulu, Highgate has established itself as a market leader. Beyond the United States, the company is rapidly expanding its footprint in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, positioning itself as a global hospitality powerhouse. The company’s diverse portfolio encompasses a vast range of hotel properties with an aggregate asset value exceeding $20 billion and cumulative revenues surpassing $5 billion. Highgate’s deep industry expertise allows it to expertly navigate all stages of the hospitality property cycle, including planning, development, recapitalization, and disposition.
Highgate stands out not only for its extensive portfolio but also for its innovative approach to hotel management. The company develops bespoke hotel brands tailored to market and ownership group needs and employs proprietary revenue management tools that leverage predictive analytics and market dynamics to maximize asset performance and value. Supported by an executive team of seasoned hospitality industry leaders, Highgate is a trusted partner to top ownership groups and major hotel brands. The company’s corporate offices are strategically located in London, New York, Dallas, and Seattle, enabling efficient operations across multiple regions.
The role of Bus Person at Highgate offers an hourly compensation structure and is vital to maintaining the overall quality of guest service and operational excellence within the hospitality environment. The Bus Person works closely with servers and other front-of-house staff to ensure guests receive impeccable service and that dining areas uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This role is especially important during busy meal periods when efficiency and attention to detail directly impact guest satisfaction.
As a Bus Person, the individual is responsible for maintaining clean and presentable tables, replenishing service items such as china, glassware, silverware, and linens, and assisting servers with beverage delivery and table maintenance. The ability to multitask effectively during high-volume service hours is crucial, as is a commitment to maintaining hygienic working conditions throughout the operational shifts. This position also involves performing opening and closing cleaning duties, supporting servers during busy periods or in their absence, and ensuring beverage levels on tables are consistently maintained as part of the overall guest experience.
This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to exert significant force occasionally and the capacity to stand for the entire shift. Flexibility in working hours is a must, as the hospitality industry often necessitates long or varying shifts. Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in hotels or hospitality-related fields are preferred. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a leading hospitality company known for innovation and excellence, providing solid career growth potential within a dynamic and expanding organization.
