Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests
- Ability to repeatedly transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas
- Availability for rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- On-site presence at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center
- Living within commutable distance to the medical center
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous food service and/or hospitality experience in a formal setting preferred
- Formal black and white room service/waiter experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Graciously serve food and beverages to patients, staff, and visitors
- Assist guests in selecting meals compliant with dietary restrictions
- Articulate menu offerings and specials with appropriate descriptions
- Monitor cleanliness and presentation of service equipment, flatware, plateware, and glassware prior to service
- Promote various menu items and take accurate orders
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas
