The role at Dial is centered around effective team management and excellence in food service delivery within a senior living community. As a manager within the Dining Services team, you will lead by example, ensuring adherence to uniform guidelines, company policies, and respectful interaction among staff and residents. Your leadership will drive both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house operations, involving food preparation, safety, scheduling, and inventory oversight. The position requires close coordination with various departments to improve community growth and the resident experience continuously. Responsibilities also include managing wage and salary budgets, hiring and disciplinary actions, and supporting marketing and catering events to bolster the community's vibrancy.   • Experience managing and leading a staff of 15+ employees
  • Previous experience working with older adults

Job Duties

  • Lead crews in all aspects of food service and preparation, both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house, expecting thorough and timely completion of tasks from all crew members
  • Communicate openly and work intricately with various levels of team members, directing and training patiently, as needed
  • Understand the job description and duties of each position within the department
  • Responsible for wage and salaries of those under your supervision within company and community guidelines, and in keeping with budgetary requirements
  • Responsible for hiring and discipline practices of those under your supervision, as directed by the Executive Director and within corporate guidelines
  • Assist in monitoring staff and safe food handling procedures including but not limited to receiving of food, storage, preparation and proper cooling and reheating of all food products
  • Responsible for scheduling of staff but may delegate scheduling duties, as needed
  • Ensure the success of outside marketing events, in-house marketing and activities and additional catering events as needed
  • Uphold department and company standards while requiring team members to do the same
  • Aid in the timely upkeep of equipment and oversee repairs and maintenance
  • Assist Executive Director in planning future Dining Services budgets
  • Track, record, and maintain inventory stock including foods, beverages, and kitchen supplies
  • Must hold regularly scheduled staff meetings communicating upcoming events and discuss ongoing training as needed
  • Effectively communicate with corporate dining services team
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and creative problem solving where necessary
  • Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, team members, and community operations
  • Adhere to state and county regulatory compliance
  • Other duties as assigned
