Job Description

Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a new and emerging 72-bed behavioral health facility set to open in 2026. It operates under Lifepoint Health, a nationally recognized and diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities across 29 states. The Dietary Manager role at Centra Behavioral Health Hospital is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the dietary services with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance. Scheduled for full-time day shifts, this role involves maintaining menu cycles according to established dietary and food cost guidelines, collaborating closely with Registered Dietitians to meet patients' specific nutritional requirements. The Dietary Manager ensures proper food labeling, storage, sanitation, and safety procedures aligned with health department regulations. They are tasked with maintaining accurate HACCP programs, verifying food temperatures, and ensuring meals adhere to portion controls and maintain high standards of taste and appearance. This position requires someone who can manage dietary staff schedules, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and demonstrate exemplary customer service by interacting warmly and professionally with patients and fellow staff. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous management experience in food service
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Favorable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Proof of insurance when using own auto
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Food Safety or Sanitation certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or combination of education and relevant work experience preferred
  • Previous management experience in food service
  • Hospital experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Proof of insurance when using own auto
  • Food Safety or Sanitation certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain rotating menu following established dietary and food cost guidelines in collaboration with Registered Dietitians for specific patient needs
  • Keep and rotate food and consumables stored per health department and hospital guidelines
  • Ensure food is properly labeled and dated per established guidelines for food safety
  • Maintain accurate HACCP programs and check food temperatures from delivery through consumption
  • Ensure department practices sanitation and food safety guidelines for appropriate food handling procedures including use of service utensils and gloves
  • Order supplies within established budgets
  • Ensure meals are prepared in accordance to menu cycle and daily production sheet, providing attention to attractiveness and taste of meals
  • Adhere to portion controls and over or under production
  • Interact with patients and staff in the serving line, offering assistance of a nutritionally balanced meal and serving as a role model for customer service
  • Personally assist in cleaning and ensure staff accurately follows all posted cleaning schedules and procedures
  • Ensure equipment is well maintained and clean
  • Make dietary staff schedules based on hospital census and rotate weekends for all staff including self
  • Perform other duties as assigned
