NeuroRestorative, a vital part of the Sevita family, is a respected provider of rehabilitation services for individuals across all age groups who are dealing with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, medically complex illnesses, and other significant challenges. Our organization operates in various locations and community-based settings, offering an array of specialized programs such as vocational and therapeutic programs, day treatments, and targeted services that cater to infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members, and Veterans. Our NeuroRestorative facility in Pleasanton, CA, is a fully licensed, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) accredited Congregate Living Healthcare Facility (CLHF). This facility specializes in brain, spinal cord, and other life-altering injuries alongside complex medical illnesses. We offer comprehensive in-patient treatment in a residential, home-like environment, which includes neurorehabilitation, respite care, post-acute, and sub-acute care services. This setting ensures that individuals receive the highest level of care in a comforting and supportive atmosphere.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Cook to join our team, a role that embodies our mission of serving individuals with compassion and excellence. This position involves a unique combination of culinary and housekeeping duties essential to maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and nutritional needs of those we serve. As a Housekeeper/Cook, you will coordinate menus, prepare meals according to nutritional guidelines, and ensure all common areas are clean and well-maintained to meet health standards. This is a critical position that supports daily operations and enhances the living experience of individuals under our care.

This per diem role offers 10-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with competitive pay ranging from $20.00 to $24.50 per hour based on experience, as well as overtime opportunities at premium rates. The role demands a valid driver's license in good standing and a current food handler's certification. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Current food handler’s certification
  • Experience in kitchen or restaurant cooking
  • Experience in janitorial, cleaning, or housekeeping

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain all common areas including rooms, hallways, restrooms, windows, woodwork, light fixtures, and other work areas to meet health standards
  • Maintain and clean floor surfaces, furniture, draperies, use shampooers, and empty trash receptacles
  • Follow universal precautions and procedures regarding cleaners, hazardous materials, and infection control
  • Disinfect equipment and supplies
  • Launder, sort clothing, iron, and fold items
  • Purchase groceries, household supplies, and take laundry to the cleaners
  • Review work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared
  • Prepare, season, and cook food
  • Carve portions of meat, fish, or fowl for individual servings
  • Inspect food storage and direct sanitary maintenance of kitchen and storage facilities
  • Oversee and coordinate activities of kitchen workers preparing and cooking foods
  • Plan and review menus
  • Determine food quantities, labor, and overhead costs
