Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare or food service preferred
- Food Handler’s Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Job Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or food service preferred
- Familiarity with therapeutic and modified diets is a plus
- Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable with strong attendance and punctuality
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and specific dietary guidelines
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
- Modify meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified diets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times
- Assist with monitoring inventory and communicating supply needs to leadership
- Properly store and label food to ensure freshness and compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with dietary staff and the clinical team to support residents' nutritional needs
- Assist with meal service and ensure appropriate portion control
