Hallmark Youthcare emphasizes a therapeutic approach, combining clinical expertise with compassionate support to help its residents achieve better emotional and mental health outcomes. As a respected employer in the healthcare and social services sector, the organization prioritizes safety, respect, and continuous professional development for its staff.

The current opening is for a part-time Cook position within the Dietary Services department. One key responsibility is ensuring accurate portion control and meal service schedules to meet residents' therapeutic dietary needs.

The Cook is also involved in other kitchen functions such as assembling trays, operating dishwashing equipment, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria areas. Attention to detail is critical, especially in following standardized recipes to produce consistent quality meals that meet established presentation standards. Baking duties and assistance with dessert preparation also form part of the role. Additionally, the Cook must ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and reports any maintenance issues to uphold the facility’s high standard of food safety.

Professional competence is supported through requirements such as obtaining and maintaining ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety management certifications within 90 days of hire, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Hallmark Youthcare values individuals who are able to take direction efficiently and demonstrate decision-making skills that prioritize the interests of residents and the facility. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong sanitation and safety awareness, efficient time management to meet schedule deadlines, and the ability to understand and apply therapeutic diet guidelines.

Pay for this part-time role is up to $18 per hour including shift differentials, with work scheduled on 8-hour shifts and every other weekend off.
