This full-time Dietary Cook position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23 and is scheduled from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. The role entails supporting all food-related operations compliant with established food safety standards and organizational policies. The Dietary Cook will play a critical role in ensuring that all residents receive meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety. Duties include preparing and serving meals based on established menus and therapeutic diet plans, inspecting diet trays for accuracy, and maintaining sanitary and orderly kitchen workspaces. In this capacity, the cook collaborates closely with the facility’s dietitian to implement dietary modifications as required to meet individual health needs. The position requires vigilance to portion control as well as the ability to handle administrative responsibilities such as completing necessary documentation and reports. Job Duties
- Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms and reports and submit to the Director of Food Services
- Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary
- Work with the facility’s dietitian and implement recommended changes
- Ensure all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
- Prepare meals according to planned menus
- Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- Prepare food for therapeutic diets based on planned menus
- Prepare food following standardized recipes and special diet orders
