Job Description
The Pennant Group, Inc. is a reputable holding company that operates a diverse portfolio of independent subsidiaries specializing in healthcare services across the United States. These subsidiaries provide exceptional care through home health and hospice agencies, as well as vibrant senior living communities, where the physical, emotional, and social needs of seniors are prioritized. The Pennant Group prides itself on fostering environments where residents feel valued, empowered, and supported to live life to the fullest. With a commitment to excellence and innovation in senior care, each community under The Pennant Group umbrella is managed by dedicated teams that embody the company’s core values and mission.
One of the esteemed senior living communities within The Pennant Group is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join their team. This role is integral to delivering outstanding dining experiences that contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents. As a Cook at this community, you will be part of a team that is guided by the CAPLICO Core Values: Celebration, Accountability, Passion for Learning, Love One Another, Intelligent Risk Taking, Customer Second (Employee First!), and Ownership. These values are not only the foundation of the workplace culture but also directly influence how staff members interact with residents and each other to create a nurturing and positive environment.
The Cook position involves preparing and serving meals in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner while adhering to the highest standards of food safety and quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all food items are prepared according to community quality standards and residents’ special dietary needs are met with care and precision. This role requires a strong understanding of various food preparation techniques and the ability to follow recipes consistently to maintain product quality. Key responsibilities also include ordering, receiving, and rotating stock in collaboration with the Food Service Director to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients.
Those who thrive in this position are excellent communicators, both orally and in writing, and display a willingness to continually learn and improve their culinary skills. The ability to work effectively under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and manage conflict or customer complaints professionally is essential. Dependability, punctuality, self-motivation, and the capacity to work independently without constant supervision are highly valued traits in this role. The community offers a supportive work environment where teamwork and mutual respect are paramount, creating a place where employees feel empowered and motivated to contribute meaningfully.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive wage ranging from $19.00 to $23.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role in ensuring the highest standards of food service. The employer is an equal opportunity provider, committed to evaluating applicants fairly without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. Working as a Cook in this senior living community presents a unique chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, providing nourishment and care that enhance their daily living experience. If you align with the CAPLICO Core Values and meet the necessary requirements, this opportunity represents a rewarding career path within a supportive and dynamic healthcare environment.
