Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- must be able to maintain a class 1 fingerprint clearance card
- must abide by company policies and procedures
- must be capable of performing a 25-pound weight lifting test as part of the physical exam
- able to verbally communicate and understand English
- must be able to read and comprehend English
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent education preferred
- education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets
- minimum one year food service experience required
- experience in healthcare dietary setting preferred
- proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
- knowledge of federal, state, and community rules and regulations
- strong organizational skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and client information
Job Duties
- Coordinate food preparation and meal service
- store leftovers and plan for use according to sanitation regulations and leftover policy
- supervise dietary staff in the absence of Dietary Manager and initiate replacement calls for absentees
- assist with department inventory program
- clean equipment and work areas as assigned by the Dietary Manager
- assist with annual checklist inspection of department
- attend scheduled department staff meetings
- attend in-service educational programs
- follow defined safety codes and infection control procedures
- understand community fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and emergencies
- perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Dietary Manager
- perform duties following safety standards including use of PPE
- attend all required training sessions
