Job Description

The role of Dietary and Food Cook at NeuroRestorative is a unique dual function position that combines culinary skills with housekeeping responsibilities. This part-time, per diem opportunity offers approximately 10 hours per week with an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $19.00. The position is located at NeuroRestorative’s facility on E. Alluvial Avenue. As a Dietary and Food Cook, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s mission by preparing and coordinating nutritious meals that meet the specific dietary needs of the individuals receiving care. This position requires a strong attention to detail, an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
The Dietary and Food Cook is responsible for reviewing work orders to determine the types and quantities of food to be prepared, ensuring meals are seasoned and cooked to the highest quality standards. You will also be tasked with carving portions of meat, fish, or poultry for individual servings while maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards through careful inspection of food storage and cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas. Additionally, the role includes overseeing and coordinating the activities of kitchen workers to ensure timely and proper preparation of meals. Menu planning and review, as well as managing food costs including labor and overhead expenses, are also key components of the job.
