Job Duties
- Assembles food items and delivers trays
- Refers to daily assignment sheet for the day’s duty schedule
- Cleans and sanitizes work area upon completion of assembly process
- Transports assembled cold food items to serving area
- Sets up cold and hot serving stations with proper utensils, condiments, china and silverware
- Inspects flatware, china, and trays for cleanliness, chips or stains
- Working from color-coded menus assembles patient trays
- Assesses food quality and food temperatures throughout serving and assembly process
- Assembles and delivers patient trays to patient rooms and nursing units
- Covers food and refrigerates leftovers after meal serving
- Cleans equipment and work area
- Removes, sorts and processes trays and trash through dishwasher
- Cleans and organizes coolers, storage areas, work tables, shelves and drawers
- Sets up and operates dishwasher, insures equipment is operating properly
- Sorts dirty dishes, scrapes and runs them through machine
- Inspects dishes after cleaning for cleanliness and stains
- Checks wash and rinse temperatures and charts them
- Keeps cafeteria stocked with dishes, trays, glassware and flatware
- Reports shortages of dish machine soaps and other products
- Prepares and delivers daily mid-morning and mid-afternoon nourishments
- Fills bulk daily nourishment request for patient units
- Performs duties of Dietary Aide - Tray Line as needed
- Follows cleaning and sanitation schedules and procedures
- Follows recycling procedures
- Follows directions
- Completes assigned tasks within timeframe
- Follows safety rules
- Demonstrates punctuality and acceptable attendance
- Initiates tasks without being told
- Recognizes potential problems and solves them
- Supports team members, promotes cooperation between departments
- Acts as role model by promoting unity and teamwork
