Job Description
Great Lakes Senior Living is a distinguished provider of senior living and memory care services, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults. Located within the serene environment of Waterford Senior Living, this establishment offers compassionate, resident-centered care that prioritizes dignity, respect, and comfort. Great Lakes Senior Living is renowned for fostering a warm, supportive community where residents enjoy not only professional care but also a vibrant social and dining experience. The facility is committed to nurturing an environment filled with love, encouragement, and support, making it more than just a residence—it's a true home for its residents.
Joining the Dining Services team at Great Lakes Senior Living as Kitchen Staff means becoming an integral part of this mission. The role involves preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to meet the needs and preferences of senior residents, including those requiring specialized memory care. The position is vital for ensuring that every meal is an opportunity to promote health, happiness, and resident satisfaction. This role demands a dedicated individual who values cleanliness, safety, and professional service within a fast-paced, dynamic environment typical of senior living facilities.
As Kitchen Staff, you will report directly to the Dietary Manager and hold a Non-Exempt status. This full-time or part-time position offers a starting pay of $17.00 per hour and requires hands-on involvement in meal preparation, kitchen sanitation, adherence to food safety protocols, and ensuring an inviting dining atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include assisting with meal prep for daily meals and snacks, serving food promptly, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting food inventory management by properly labeling and rotating supplies.
In addition to operational duties, the role emphasizes resident engagement by addressing food quality or service concerns during shifts, thus contributing to a respectful and welcoming dining experience. The Kitchen Staff must comply with all applicable health and safety regulations, including DHS 83 and DHS 89 standards, and participate actively in ongoing training and professional development. Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a customer-focused attitude are essential, as the role demands collaboration with the Dietary Manager and other staff to uphold the highest standards of dining services for senior living residents.
Physical demands include regular standing, walking, and reaching, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds, reflecting the dynamic nature of kitchen operations. The work environment features typical noise levels associated with dining service in a senior living community, requiring adaptability and a resilient work ethic.
Overall, the Kitchen Staff position at Great Lakes Senior Living offers a meaningful opportunity for individuals seeking to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors through dedicated dietary service in a professional and caring facility.
