The Food Service Worker role at Aramark involves assisting management with meal preparation and food service operations to ensure quality and safety. This position plays a vital role in maintaining high food production standards, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices while supporting various administrative tasks such as maintaining cash receipts and completing daily reporting. The Food Service Worker will prepare food and baked goods according to planned menus, ensure proper food storage, and serve meals in line with established schedules and policies. This role also involves the care and proper use of kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work and storage areas, and adhering to food safety regulations. The position requires close communication with the manager to coordinate menu preparations and supervise food temperature standards.

Additionally, this role demands physical activity that may include lifting, bending, pulling, extended standing and walking, and adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies. The ideal candidate will work efficiently under pressure, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and follow procedures for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces and equipment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions
  • Capacity to work efficiently under pressure
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing or walking
  • Commitment to adhere to uniform and safety policies
  • Food service certification if required by local codes
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing job duties

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Follow physical safety protocols including use of personal protective equipment
