Job Requirements
- high school diploma
- 0-3 years of experience in food service or hospitality
- serv safe or equivalent certification
- ability to communicate verbally and be understood by management, co-workers, and residents with hearing or cognitive impairments
- basic cooking and meal preparation skills
- understanding of service techniques
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- ability to multitask
- knowledge of therapeutic diets and sanitation practices
- positive attitude and patience
- willingness to follow safety and health regulations
- ability to perform physical duties such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning
Job Qualifications

- entry level (0-3 years) experience in food service or hospitality
- serv safe or required certification from local, county or state department
- capable of communicating well verbally
- basic cooking and preparation skills
- thorough understanding of service techniques and requirements
- ability to seek instruction when needed
- ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form
- ability to handle multiple projects
- fundamental understanding of therapeutic diets, sanitation and service
- ability to interact with various personalities with patience, concern, and a positive attitude
- maintains a positive and professional demeanor towards all residents, guests, and co-workers
Job Duties
- follow and perform duties in adherence to senior lifestyle corporation dining policy and procedures
- serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures and prescribed modified or therapeutic diets, nutrition/hydration requirements and resident preferences
- assist or serve meals in a timely manner ensuring they are palatable and appetizing in appearance and accurate in content
- setup, deliver, and verify accuracy of meal trays, food carts, and dining areas
- remove all soiled items/equipment after meal completion
- distribute and collect menus for each meal period
- assist in obtaining proper food supplies for the next meal
- assist cooks in preparation of menu items
- prepare and deliver snacks and assist in inventory control and stocking
- follow safety precautions to prevent accidents
- perform kitchen utility duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, bussing items, washing and cleaning small wares and equipment, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, cutting boards, and table tops, and removing garbage
- ensure compliance with company and local, state, and county health department regulations
- ensure dining areas are clean and operating safely
- attend all required training, in services, and staff meetings
- meet all department training standards through Redi-Learning and/or other training modules
