Job Requirements

  • Availability to work five days a week including weekends
  • Ability to work evening shifts from 3:45 pm to 7:45 pm
  • Ability to work in a high-volume call center environment
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to distinguish food and medication allergies
  • Ability to serve as liaison between departments

Job Qualifications

  • SD County Food Handler Card or Food Safety Certificate or able to pass Food Handlers test within 30 days of hire
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in multiple computer systems
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR)
  • College courses in nutrition
  • Bilingual English-Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide administrative and clerical support for Food and Nutrition Services
  • Process diet orders accurately
  • Assist patients with menu selections
  • Distinguish between food and medication allergies
  • Maintain current diet orders and menus to ensure compliance with physician diet orders
  • Serve as liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments
  • Handle patient complaints, food issues, and questions about meals and diets
