The Barista/Coffee Bar Associate plays an essential role within Di Bruno Bros.’s operations team by providing customers with an exceptional coffee and tea experience reflecting the company’s dedication to quality and service. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, this position involves making and serving specialty coffee and tea beverages crafted with precision and care that align with the brand’s high standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to follow health and safety standards
- Must be punctual and have reliable transportation
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team
- Prior experience in customer service or retail preferred
- Enthusiasm for coffee and food service
Job Qualifications
- One year of barista experience preferred but we love to train those passionate about coffee and customer service
- Availability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business
- A willingness to learn about our brand and our roasters
- An enthusiasm to communicate with customers and fellow Associates about current offerings and drink options
- Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and POS register system
- Can multi-task and work well under the pressure of a busy coffee bar
- Ability to read, write and count to accurately complete all documentation
- Can move, carry or handle merchandise throughout the store
- You thrive in fast-paced environments
- You are a passionate food and beverage lover with a positive attitude
- You have a strong work ethic, are reliable, and enjoy working with people
- You take pride in exceeding customer expectations
Job Duties
- Make and serve specialty coffee and tea beverages
- Speak and interact with both new and regular customers
- Take and fulfill coffee bar orders for customer
- Complete sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing and totaling customers' purchases, and accepting cash or credit card payments from customers
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work station
- Follow health and safety guidelines
- Adhere to recipes and presentations for food and beverage items
- Be punctual and able to observe regular and consistent attendance
- Contribute to a positive team environment
