Job Description
RTX, also known as Raytheon Technologies, is the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, uniting 185,000 of the brightest minds through a shared mission to solve the globe’s most complex challenges. With three market-leading businesses, state-of-the-art operations, and a robust commitment to research and development, RTX offers unmatched capabilities and opportunities unique to the aerospace and defense sector. The company is built on a foundation of over 100 years of experience and engineering excellence, striving to meet the current needs of missions and stay ahead of emerging threats. RTX is proud to deliver solutions that help defend freedoms, deter aggression, and ultimately create a safer and more secure world for nations and their allies.
Located in McKinney, Texas, a vibrant suburb near Dallas and Plano, this onsite role offers a unique chance to join the Hardware Design Integrity (HWDI) department, a core part of the Product Integrity center alongside Configuration and Data Management (CMDM). HWDI ensures program execution quality and on-time delivery by maintaining the integrity, compliance, security, and efficiency of technical data, designs, and systems. This role specifically seeks multiple Design Integrity Checkers who will play an essential part in upholding the highest standards for technical data packages (TDPs).
The Design Integrity Checker position is available in two disciplines: Mechanical Design Checker and Electrical Design Checker. Both roles involve performing design verification and validation of traditional 2D drawings as well as advanced Model-Based Design TDPs. Mechanical Design Checkers focus on complex and simple machined parts, castings, and fabricated items, ensuring all documentation and models meet stringent quality, consistency, and producibility standards. Responsibilities include confirming that designs adhere to form, fit, and function requirements per company and industry standards such as ASME Y14.41 and MIL-STD-31000 and ensuring synchronization between design representations and databases.
Electrical Design Checkers provide systematic verification and validation for electrical design packages, including circuit card assemblies, printed wiring boards, schematic representations, electronic bills of materials (eBOMs), and design models developed with specialized CAD tools. They work with software applications like EXPEDITION-DxDESIGNER, BLUEPRINT, VALOR, and Excel for managing design data and changes. In addition to electrical design validation, they may also support software document reviews and, after training, take on cross-disciplinary verification tasks.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields with at least five years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of three years. Equivalent professional experience is considered in the absence of formal education. Candidates must have experience with CAD software relevant to their discipline — such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD for mechanical roles; and Mentor Boardstation or EXPEDITION-DxDESIGNER for electrical roles. Strong skills in design verification, drafting, and validation of TDPs are essential.
RTX offers a comprehensive salary range from $86,800 to $165,200 USD for this role, reflective of varying experience levels and educational background. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, an employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. As a U.S.-based position requiring an active or interim U.S. government security clearance at the Secret level, applicants must be U.S. citizens eligible for clearance. RTX values trust, respect, accountability, collaboration, and innovation, and is committed to equal opportunity employment and affirmative action for qualified individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. Join RTX and contribute to shaping the future of aerospace and defense while advancing your career in a cutting-edge, high-impact environment.
