This job opportunity is with a restaurant that operates under the McDonald's brand but is independently owned and operated by a franchisee, not McDonald's USA. The franchisee holds the license to use McDonald’s logos, food products, and brand identity while managing the day-to-day operations and all employment matters. This means that if you are hired for this position, your employer is the franchisee itself, responsible for all aspects of employment such as hiring, firing, supervision, discipline, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald's USA does not have any authority or involvement in these decisions, nor do they receive your employment application. This ensures a localized management approach tailored to each franchise’s unique environment and community.

The position available is that of a Department Manager, a critical role within the restaurant's leadership team. Department Managers lead shifts weekly, ensuring every customer enjoys a fast, friendly, and accurate service experience. Beyond shift leadership, some managers take on additional responsibilities by overseeing specific departments and their systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management. These leadership roles require setting departmental goals, delegating tasks, following up on performance, and communicating results to the broader management team.

Within this role, there are key departmental focuses that managers may be responsible for. The Guest Service Department Manager, for example, ensures that the front-of-house staff delivers an excellent customer experience, handles sales promotions effectively, trains service staff on proper procedures, and keeps the front counter, McCafe, and drive-thru areas organized and efficient. The Kitchen Department Manager focuses on maintaining food quality, safety, cost control, and staff training in production processes. Meanwhile, the People Department Manager plays a vital role in hiring qualified staff, providing thorough training, managing schedules aligned with sales and profit goals, and fostering a positive work environment where employees are recognized and motivated.
