Job Description

This job opportunity is with a restaurant operated by an independent franchisee licensed to use the McDonald's brand, logos, and food products. This franchisee operates as a separate company from McDonald's USA and independently manages all employment-related matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling employees. Therefore, if you are hired, you will be employed directly by the franchisee and not McDonald's USA. This distinction means that McDonald's USA has no involvement in employment decisions related to this position or the handling of your application.

The establishment is part of the globally recognized McDonald's franchise network, known for delivering fast, friendly service and quality food in a welcoming environment. This franchisee-owned McDonald's restaurant provides career growth opportunities, attractive benefits, and a dynamic work environment that embraces teamwork, leadership development, and skill-building. Employees are encouraged to pursue their education and career goals while working flexible hours tailored to their needs.

The role offered is that of a Department Manager, a leadership position integral to the smooth operation and success of the restaurant. Department Managers lead shifts and are responsible for ensuring that customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service every time they visit. These managers may also oversee specific departments or systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks, following up to ensure completion, and reporting outcomes to their team and other managers.

Department Manager responsibilities vary based on the assigned department. For example, the Guest Service Department Manager ensures that both crew and managers deliver excellent customer experiences, implement sales promotions effectively, train the front-line staff in service procedures, and maintain an organized service area including the Front Counter, McCafe, and Drive-Thru. The Kitchen Department Manager focuses on food quality, speed of service, food safety, cost control, and proper training of kitchen staff, including updates on new menu items. The People Department Manager manages crew recruitment, training, and scheduling aligned with sales and profit goals while fostering a positive work culture where employees feel motivated and recognized.

This position suits positive team players who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with energy and purpose, and are eager to develop their leadership skills. Previous managerial experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments is preferred. Candidates need to be 18 years or older to qualify for a managerial position within the corporate-owned McDonald's stores.

In addition to competitive pay, Department Managers receive an outstanding benefits package. Benefits include 15 to 25 days of paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, an anniversary splash award, and an eight-week sabbatical every 10 years of service. The company supports continued education through the Archways to Opportunity program, which offers opportunities to earn a high school diploma, college tuition assistance, and English language classes. Other benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance, paid leaves of absence, service awards, employee resource connections, adoption assistance, and a matching gifts program.

Joining this McDonald's franchise gives you the chance to embrace a career that offers stability, growth, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to work in a renowned, supportive environment. This position encourages you to be yourself while progressing towards your personal and professional goals. If you are driven by achievement, eager to lead, and enjoy working with a motivated team, this Department Manager position could be the perfect fit to advance your career in the restaurant industry.
