Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by an independent franchisee operating a McDonald’s restaurant, which holds a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products but operates as a separate company from McDonald’s USA. This franchisee independently manages employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling, without intervention or control from McDonald’s USA. When hired, you will be employed directly by this franchisee, making them your employer for all job-related concerns. McDonald’s USA does not receive employment applications and is not involved in any hiring decisions, interview processes, or other employment determinations.

The role available is for a Department Manager at this independently owned McDonald’s restaurant. The Department Manager position offers a satisfying career with opportunities for advancement, competitive pay, and great benefits. Working in this position means being part of a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you can build your skills, pursue education, and enjoy flexible working hours. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for leadership, customer service, and operational management in the food service industry. Whether you lead shifts, manage a specific department such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People, you will be empowered to inspire your team, drive performance, and contribute to a positive customer experience.

Department Managers step up to lead shifts weekly to ensure customers receive fast, accurate, and friendly service. The role requires overseeing sales promotions, ensuring service and food quality standards are met, managing inventory and food safety, and fostering a motivated and well-trained team. The Guest Service Department Manager focuses on maintaining excellent front counter, McCafé, and drive-thru service. The Kitchen Department Manager emphasizes food quality, speed, safety, and cost control. The People Department Manager dedicates effort toward recruitment, training, scheduling, and employee engagement to support restaurant sales and profit goals.

Preferred candidates will have previous managerial experience, ideally in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment, and possess a positive, team-oriented attitude with flexibility in scheduling. Candidates must be 18 years or older to qualify for a managerial role in corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurants. This position is designed for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced workplace and want to succeed in a leadership role while furthering their career growth.

In addition to competitive compensation, Department Managers enjoy a variety of valuable benefits including paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and educational programs. The Archways to Opportunity program offers help with earning a high school diploma, college tuition assistance, and English language classes. Employee recognition through service awards and volunteer gift matching programs add to an inclusive and supportive work environment.

This posting reflects an exciting chance to join a respected and well-established restaurant brand represented through an independently operated franchise. It is an excellent entry point for motivated individuals eager to lead, grow, and achieve success in the renowned McDonald’s ecosystem, albeit working directly for the franchise owner. Opportunities for career advancement, extensive training, and the chance to balance work with your personal aspirations make this role a strong career choice.
