Walker Dental Care is a prominent dental office supported by Heartland Dental, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is for a Dental Front Office Business Assistant who will play a critical part in fostering a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and staff alike. The successful candidate will be a hardworking and motivated professional who brings enthusiasm and dedication to supporting the front office team. The Business Assistant will be responsible for managing various administrative tasks, including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling insurance claims, and maintaining patient records using Dentrix software. Additionally, the individual will collaborate closely with the dental providers and other team members to implement Heartland Dental systems that optimize office operations and ensure the best patient care.

Job Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment

  • Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental software preferred
  • Experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in dental or medical office setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression of our team
  • Manage front office duties including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records management
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, verification of benefits, and explanation of coverage
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential
