This position requires adherence to all federal, state, and local safe food handling regulations, ensuring that every dish served meets both safety and quality benchmarks.

The Cook's duties include following established brand standards and recipe specifications to prepare a variety of menu items accurately and efficiently. This role demands a strong understanding of prepping protocols, stock management, and maintaining proper food temperatures as specified by Denny's Brand Standards and regulatory authorities. Cooks are expected to handle special orders, organize work areas and storage, assist with inventory and deliveries, and keep kitchen equipment clean and well-maintained.

In addition to technical skills and product knowledge, the role requires excellent communication and a collaborative spirit. Cooks must handle customer complaints courteously and promptly, assist other team members as necessary, and convey a professional and positive attitude at all times. Physical endurance is essential for this position as it involves lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended shifts of 4 to 8 hours, and operating in environments with varying temperatures.

This position requires someone who is dependable, attentive to detail, and committed to upholding Denny's reputation for outstanding guest service. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, wipe, lift, and grasp
  • Must have mobility to operate in confined work area
  • Must work inside and outside the restaurant
  • Must be able to work with all Denny's menu products
  • Must be able to read tickets, recipes, and product specifications
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 4 to 8 hour shifts
  • Must be able to hear well in a loud environment
  • Must meet state, county, or municipal regulations on food handling and health risk
  • Must be able to work with potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Must tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Basic math skills including understanding of units of measure

Job Duties
