Transport Drivers are primarily responsible for the safe and efficient movement of products, invoices, and Point of Sale (POS) materials between various company branches and satellite docks. This position demands a high level of responsibility, as drivers must adhere strictly to safety regulations and company policies. In addition to transportation duties, drivers are tasked with conducting CDL safety and pre-trip inspections, completing all related documentation accurately and on time, including fueling procedures and secure handling of invoices and payments. Drivers also ensure that returned dunnage and pallets are efficiently transported back to the warehouse to maintain operational order. This full-time position requires physical stamina to load and unload heavy items, operate manual and powered pallet jacks, and work in different weather conditions both indoors and outdoors. \n\nThose in this position will work varying shifts that may include weekends and overtime, with no overnight travel expected. The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and external customers. Transport Drivers act as vital contributors to Columbia Distributing's core values, tasked with fostering a positive atmosphere and ensuring compliance with state liquor laws and labor regulations. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Maintain valid driver's license with current certification and acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations

  • Previous beverage industry experience preferred
  • Six months previous driving experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate a commercial truck
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers

Job Duties

  • Unload and reload transport trailers on delivery trucks in a safe, timely and professional manner
  • Update and load driver PDAs
  • Handle all company products according to company standards
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers and others you come into contact with through your job
  • Complete safety pre-trip checks according to government and company standards
  • Pick up and securely deliver out of market invoices and customer payments
  • Adhere to and follow all company policies, procedures and governmental regulations
  • Adhere to all state liquor laws and regulation
  • Accurately clock in and out, adhering to state labor laws
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with those of the company's core values at all times
  • Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned
