The Delivery Specialist position at O'Reilly Auto Parts plays a pivotal role in ensuring that parts and products reach professional customers safely and efficiently. Job Requirements
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations
- Driving record must meet company’s 14/18-point record system standards
- Possess legally required state driver’s license and meet company driving eligibility
- Ability to operate company delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid state driver's license with clean driving record meeting company's 14/18-point system
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to use hand-held delivery fleet management devices
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing delivery situations
- Familiarity with automotive parts is preferred
- Ability to operate light store equipment is a plus
- Bilingual fluency, especially Spanish, is highly desired
Job Duties
- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner
- Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, complete daily vehicle inspections
- Keep vehicles clean and maintained, complete daily vehicle inspections prior to operating
- Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and monies collected at all times
- Pick up customer returns including new, warranty, and cores, and fill out driver return slips
- Communicate any problems or special customer needs to store management
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to store manager immediately
- Ensure fuel tank is filled and vehicles are locked and secured at the end of the business day
- Perform additional duties such as customer service, merchandising, stocking, cashiering, and running errands as needed
