The Delivery Driver/Warehouse team member position at Worldpac involves managing multiple responsibilities critical to the effective operation of the branch. This role primarily focuses on the timely and safe delivery of automotive parts to customers along established routes, as well as the pickup of returned merchandise. Additionally, the role involves fulfilling all shipping and receiving functions within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy from product sorting to order dispatching. The incumbent will be responsible for creating and maintaining various records, coordinating dispatch activities, confirming orders with customers, generating delivery manifests, and handling receiving documents. The Delivery Driver/Warehouse team member ensures that customer orders are correctly located, transported, and signed for, and collects funds if necessary while maintaining proper documentation.

This position also demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence. The candidate must be capable of using company vehicles safely while adhering to both internal and state or provincial driving regulations. Operation of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is part of the daily duties. Physical stamina is required, as the role entails frequent lifting of merchandise up to 50 pounds and occasionally heavier items up to 100 pounds. Furthermore, the role demands familiarity with safety rules and procedures, effective verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with technological tools like computers and handheld radio frequency devices.

Job Qualifications

  • High school or secondary school diploma or GED equivalent
  • valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
  • meet all applicable state or province-specific driver’s license requirements prior to driving company vehicle
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions and procedure manuals
  • ability to safely operate equipment such as forklift and pallet jack
  • proficient in basic math skills
  • ability to use computer and handheld radio frequency device
  • demonstrated strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills

Job Duties

  • Use vehicle to deliver orders or pick up returned merchandise safely and courteously
  • create and maintain records as needed
  • dispatch, confirm customer orders and generate delivery manifests and receiving documents
  • sort, organize and prepare merchandise for storage or shipment by part and quantity
  • ensure customer orders are located, picked up and signed for
  • collect funds from customers if needed and maintain all necessary documents
  • perform other assigned duties
