Job Description
US Foods is one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, with a rich history and a strong commitment to promoting from within. The company has been a key player in the food industry for over 120 years, specializing in delivering high-quality meat products, including expertly cut and portioned beef and pork. Their Stock Yards division exemplifies this tradition, serving chefs and restaurants by providing precise beef aging and trimming, meeting a wide variety of needs ranging from upscale white-linen dining to casual family meals. The company’s dedication to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement has earned it a trusted reputation across the foodservice sector.
The driver role at US Foods Stock Yards in Las Vegas offers a unique opportunity to build a meaningful career in a company deeply rooted in the food distribution industry. The position entails a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, providing a stable and predictable work routine. This role is vital to the company’s operations, where drivers not only ensure timely delivery of food products but also act as ambassadors of the company, enhancing customer relationships through professional service. Drivers are expected to safely operate commercial trucks, handle product unloading, verify deliveries, and occasionally manage customer collections. This role requires strong physical stamina, as lifting and moving heavy food products are essential daily tasks.
US Foods emphasizes safety and professionalism, providing all drivers with excellent local leadership and an environment that supports continual training and career growth. The position offers competitive pay ranging from $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, with access to overtime compensation as applicable. Furthermore, the company provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K retirement plans, life insurance, and a strong safety culture.
A critical aspect of this job is compliance with federal regulations, including the requirement for drivers to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse database, ensuring drug and alcohol program adherence. Candidates must hold a valid CDL Class A license, be at least 21 years old, and have relevant commercial driving experience, either generally or specifically within the food and beverage delivery industry. Preference is given to those who can operate manual transmissions.
Joining US Foods as a driver means becoming part of a culture that values integrity, reliability, and collaboration. These core beliefs help shape the work ethic and team spirit across the organization. Drivers are viewed as essential to the company’s success and receive the respect and rewards that come with dedication and hard work. In return, employees are provided with opportunities for advancement and a supportive work environment focused on safety and development. This role is well-suited for individuals who are dependable, physically capable, communicative, and enjoy interacting with customers while delivering critical foodservice products.
