The Delivery Specialist role at Tractor Supply and Petsense is a crucial position responsible for ensuring that purchased merchandise reaches customers efficiently and safely within the designated markets. In this role, the Delivery Specialist will be tasked with operating and maintaining a clean and organized delivery vehicle, which may include towing a trailer when necessary. They will be responsible for loading, unloading, and organizing merchandise in a manner that ensures safety and efficiency. Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections are critical to maintaining readiness and safety throughout the workday. Additionally, accurate documentation of deliveries and any arising issues is required to maintain seamless communication and operational transparency.

The role also requires close collaboration with the field sales team and store personnel to ensure that customer needs are fully met. Customer communication is a priority, whether providing updates or addressing delivery concerns professionally and courteously. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • minimum of 3 years driving experience
  • meet motor vehicle record check requirements
  • possess DOT Medical Card as required
  • physical and mental stamina to move quickly and safely
  • ability to push pull merchandise up to 2000 pounds with equipment
  • ability to lift and move large bulky and heavy merchandise
  • ability to safely load and unload delivery truck
  • follow safety practices and company policies
  • ability to operate related equipment efficiently and accurately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience with hand truck dolly pallet jack and forklift preferred
  • valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar
  • strong customer service skills with professional and friendly attitude
  • excellent time-management skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to read write and count accurately for documentation
  • ability to navigate using GPS and maps
  • ability to complete required training successfully
  • flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
