Known for fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace, American Tire Distributors offers its employees a supportive environment that values continuous learning, quality service, and mutual respect. As an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace, the company prioritizes safety, professionalism, and accountability across all levels of its operations.
The Delivery Driver (non-CDL) role at American Tire Distributors is a crucial position focused on the timely and efficient transportation of products from the company’s origin points to destinations including customer business locations. This role demands a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, achieved by ensuring on-time product delivery and professional customer interaction at every stage. The Delivery Driver will unload and stage products upon arrival, verify shipments for accuracy, and manage necessary delivery documentation with precision. The role carries significant responsibility in representing the company professionally, both in driving and direct customer communication, thereby building and maintaining strong, positive customer relationships.
Driven by a commitment to safety and adherence to company and governmental policies, the Delivery Driver will uphold all safety protocols and regulations, including maintaining accurate records in compliance with state and federal requirements. The position occasionally involves operating powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and pallet jacks, requiring specific skills and attention to equipment utilization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong competencies such as action-oriented problem-solving, effective communication, collaboration, decisiveness, and accountability. Furthermore, this role integrates elements of customer service excellence, including the ability to navigate service conversations skillfully and recognize opportunities to enhance the customer experience through product knowledge and service-to-sales transitions.
This full-time position expects approximately 75% travel within assigned territories without overnight stays, promoting a balance between job demands and personal time. Physical demands include occasional lifting of products up to 50 pounds and handling heavier items with team lifting techniques. The work environment exposes employees to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels, requiring flexibility and resilience.
Joining American Tire Distributors as a Delivery Driver provides an opportunity to build a challenging and rewarding career within a company that values innovation, dedication, and collaboration.
