This role is for a Delivery Driver (non-CDL), a crucial position within American Tire Distributors that centers on the timely and professional delivery of products to customers. The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting products from the company’s facilities to customers’ places of business, ensuring product accuracy, maintaining safety standards, and providing excellent customer service throughout the process. This position demands strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers while also adhering to all company safety policies and federal and state transportation regulations.
The Delivery Driver will be involved in unloading and staging products carefully at customer locations, processing payment collections, and ensuring all necessary documentation accompanies deliveries. There is occasional operation of powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers. This position requires approximately 75% travel, though no overnight stays are required. Physically, the role involves moderate lifting, standing, walking, balancing, and other mobility challenges in varying weather conditions. Job Requirements

- 1-2 years of related experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to travel 75% of the time without overnight stays

Job Duties
- Abide by all Company safety policies and state and federal transportation regulations
- Assist in verification of all outgoing and incoming product for accuracy in terms of size, amount and type
- Collect payments from customers in monetary form acceptable to Company
- Efficiently unload cargo and stage products at customer’s place of business
- Ensure all administrative paperwork concerning delivery orders required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies delivery
- Maintain professional representation of the Company in all interactions with customers and through responsible driving
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records required by law and Company policy
- Occasionally operate powered industrial vehicles (forklift pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.)
- Timely transportation of product from origin to destination as assigned
