Job Description
Lincare is America's leading provider specializing in oxygen therapy, durable medical equipment (DME), and clinical respiratory services. With a nationwide presence, Lincare is committed to improving the quality of life for patients who require home-based medical care through reliable equipment and professional support. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive, open, and friendly workplace culture that focuses on employee success and development. Their comprehensive benefits package, flexible work options, and opportunities for growth make Lincare a top choice for those looking to build a meaningful career in healthcare delivery services.
The role of a Delivery Driver at Lincare involves more than just transporting medical equipment; it is pivotal in ensuring patients receive the critical tools they need safely and on time. Delivery Drivers are responsible for the efficient and safe delivery of home medical equipment, including oxygen equipment and other respiratory aids. In addition to delivering equipment, drivers set up devices in patients’ homes and provide thorough education on proper equipment use, aiming to enhance patient comfort and safety. This position requires adherence to strict transportation laws and company policies to maintain safety and service quality. The role also includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and warehouses while following FDA protocols to comply with all health and safety regulations.
Lincare values drivers who can establish and maintain excellent relationships with patients and internal teams, highlighting the importance of communication skills and professionalism. As part of their commitment to quality care, drivers follow comprehensive patient orientation checklists that ensure all aspects of delivery and patient training are addressed accurately. This role also involves working on an on-call rotation during evenings and weekends to handle any patient emergencies that may arise, reflecting the company’s dedication to responsive service. Drivers must demonstrate mental alertness, critical thinking, and the ability to make sound decisions on the job. The position offers quarterly safety bonuses and additional compensation for working on-call, underscoring Lincare's commitment to rewarding safety and dedication.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of professional driving experience. While a background in home care or healthcare is advantageous, a valid driver’s license and meeting physical requirements related to DOT and FMCSA regulations are mandatory. The role demands physical endurance, including the ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ pounds) and maneuver in restricted spaces, making it essential for drivers to be fit and able to perform various physical actions such as pulling, reaching, and bending.
Overall, joining Lincare as a Delivery Driver offers an opportunity to be part of a healthcare team dedicated to supporting patients’ health and well-being in their homes. With a supportive culture, strong benefits, personal growth opportunities, and a meaningful role in patient care, this position is well-suited for individuals who are professional, safety-focused, and passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.
