The company operates an extensive network of distribution centers, providing comprehensive products, programs, and solutions that support the smooth functioning of America’s food supply chain. Core-Mark is dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive work environment that emphasizes rewards, recognition, and respect for its team members. The company offers competitive pay and benefits starting from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off, ensuring employees feel valued and supported from the outset.
The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is essential to maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the country’s food distribution system. These drivers play a critical role in ensuring that food products reach their destinations safely, timely, and in excellent condition, effectively supporting seamless supply chain operations. Beyond their logistical responsibilities, delivery drivers serve as the face of Core-Mark, forging lasting relationships with customers through professional and courteous service. The position offers a competitive pay structure starting at $29.50 per hour during training, transitioning to a pay model based on stops, loads, and miles thereafter. This full-time opportunity operates Monday through Friday, emphasizing regular team routes that contribute to job stability and community connection.
Drivers at Core-Mark are entrusted with performing thorough safety inspections on tractors, trucks, and trailers in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensuring company safety standards are consistently met. Responsibilities include checking freight loading and securing items securely, completing accurate paperwork associated with freight, and monitoring delivery schedules to guarantee timely customer service. Once at the delivery site, drivers unload goods carefully, conduct damage assessments, and manage returns and payment collections when applicable. They must maintain communication with supervisors regarding any issues, uphold vehicle security throughout their routes, and observe federal, state, and company policies related to hours of service and safe driving practices.
Core-Mark values continuous improvement and operational excellence, expecting its delivery drivers to maintain cleanliness and order in their work areas and vehicles, facilitate smooth loading and unloading processes, and assist with other relevant duties as assigned. Preferable candidates bring experience with electronic log systems, hand-held scanning devices, and customer service, enhancing their ability to perform efficiently in this dynamic role. Overall, this position offers candidates an opportunity not only to contribute to food logistics but also to grow within a supportive, safety-conscious, and forward-thinking company that prioritizes employee welfare and career development.
