The position available is for Food & Food Service Delivery Drivers who play a vital role in maintaining the country’s food supply chain. These drivers are essential in ensuring that customers receive their orders timely and in excellent condition. As the face of Core-Mark, delivery drivers not only guarantee accurate drop-offs but also build strong, lasting relationships with customers. This position offers an average weekly base pay of $1,500 plus an additional $375 weekly bonus potential, reflecting the importance of the role. Drivers will work Monday through Friday with dispatch times between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM.
The role requires driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local, intrastate, interstate, overnight, and over-the-road routes. Responsibilities include unloading and securing food and food-related products, performing full vehicle safety checks, maintaining compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and ensuring safe and efficient delivery operations. Drivers will serve as key communicators between the company and its customers, fostering professional interactions and providing timely, accurate responses to inquiries. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid CDL-A license
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight
- Ability to handle product weights generally ranging between 10 and 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- Valid CDL-A license
- Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer
- Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards
- Report all safety issues and repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately report all safety hazards
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Check and complete in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
- Move tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
