The role available is for a Local Delivery Driver/Regional Backup with a CDL A license, located primarily in Riverton, NJ, with opportunities covering nearby industrial and retail locations in Allentown, PA; Horsham, PA; Montgomeryville, PA; and Philadelphia, PA. This position offers a pay range of $33-$36 per hour with a Monday to Friday day shift schedule, along with quarterly bonus potential. As a Delivery Driver and Regional Backup, you will serve as an ambassador for Airgas, responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to various local and regional business partners. You will operate company-provided trucks, managing the flow of cylinders efficiently while fostering strong relationships with customers at multiple branch, plant, and retail locations. The role demands a high level of safety awareness and strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA guidelines.

This role is critical to maintaining the supply chain and customer's operational continuity. In addition to delivery responsibilities, you will provide warehouse support as needed, showcasing flexibility and teamwork. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years or older
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Hazmat Endorsement or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum one year of prior Class A professional driving experience or related diploma and experience
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions or accidents
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally greater than 125 pounds with equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • Hazmat Endorsement or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum one year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years or a diploma from an accredited driving school plus experience
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions or at-fault accidents
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to over 125 pounds with equipment assistance
  • Ability to work independently and handle pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to obtain forklift operator certification

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them for refilling
  • Adhere to all safety standards and government regulations including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
  • Operate company-provided straight or box trucks safely and efficiently
  • Manage customer relationships through on-site interactions and service delivery
