This position is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver based out of Farmingdale, NY, primarily serving Long Island. The role involves delivering essential food and related products, playing a critical part in the nation’s food supply chain. Drivers are responsible for ensuring that products arrive promptly and in excellent condition while providing outstanding customer service and fostering lasting client relationships. The schedule is five days a week with early morning starts ranging from 3:00 am to 7:00 am, offering local routes that allow drivers to return home nightly and have weekends off. The Driver - Supply Chain Management position entails driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including local, interstate, overnight, shuttle, and drop routes. Drivers must be proactive in reporting any safety concerns or vehicle maintenance needs. Accuracy in documentation such as shipping records and customer invoices is essential. This role also includes responsibilities like loading and unloading freight, performing damage control checks on deliveries, obtaining customer signatures, and securing freight properly. Drivers must complete federal hours of service records and maintain cleanliness and organization in tractors, trailers, and loading areas. The Driver position demands physical endurance, including hand-lifting products weighing up to 90 pounds and using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.
