The US Foods Delivery Driver role is a critical position that ensures timely and accurate delivery of products to customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Delivery Drivers play a vital role in the company’s mission to help customers "Make It" by providing dependable and courteous delivery services that support the smooth operation of the foodservice industry. This role offers an hourly wage of $35.65, with opportunities for overtime compensation, reflecting the company’s recognition of the importance of this position.

As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for driving trucks safely to customer destinations, unloading products using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, and ensuring that deliveries are made on schedule. The role also involves verifying delivery accuracy, obtaining customer signatures, handling collections and payments when necessary, and providing excellent customer service to enhance client relationships. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Physical stamina is essential, as the job requires lifting, carrying, and moving 20 to 80 pounds of product repeatedly during shifts, along with working in various weather conditions and making frequent delivery stops.

To qualify, candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience or three months in food and beverage delivery is required. While the ability to operate a manual transmission is preferred, it may be mandatory in some locations. Strong communication skills in English are necessary to understand road signs, interact with customers, and complete required documentation. Additionally, all drivers must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a database that tracks drug and alcohol program violations, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
