Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a broadline distributor under Performance Food Group (PFG), plays a vital role in America's food supply chain by delivering a wide range of food products to diverse local customers. Their clientele includes independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company prides itself on the collaborative efforts of its team, which comprises sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and foodservice experts who work closely with each customer to offer tailored guidance on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. This relationship-driven approach is at the heart of Performance Foodservice’s commitment to not just delivering quality food but also supporting the dreams of independent restaurant owners and foodservice operators.

Performance Foodservice is currently seeking qualified and dedicated Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers to join its team. This role is essential to ensuring the consistent and safe delivery of products across intrastate and interstate routes, both local and over-the-road (OTR), including shuttle and overnight assignments. Drivers are entrusted with operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks, managing the pick-up and delivery of food and related supplies to customers ranging from restaurants to healthcare providers. This position requires adherence to strict safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, underscoring the company’s focus on safety and professionalism.

Offered employment is full-time, with competitive pay that averages around $83,000 annually. The scheduling is typically Monday through Friday, with potential layovers and occasional Saturday work, featuring varied start and end times that may result in shifts exceeding 12 hours. Both 4- and 5-day work week options are available to provide flexibility. The requirement of a valid CDL Class A license is mandatory for this role.

Drivers at Performance Foodservice do more than transport orders; they are the face of the company in the communities they serve. Their responsibilities include engaging professionally with customers, accurately managing delivery paperwork, inspecting vehicles for safety compliance, and ensuring the secure and damage-free transfer of products. Additionally, drivers may be involved in collecting payments, handling equipment, and supporting operational logistics at delivery sites. Beyond the physical demands, this role offers growth opportunities within a company that values employee wellness and development. Benefits include day-one health coverage, a 401K employer match, education assistance, an employee stock purchase program, and paid time off, all within a culture that promotes respect, recognition, and safety.

Joining Performance Foodservice means becoming part of a company dedicated not only to delivering exceptional foodservice products but also to fostering meaningful relationships and career advancement in an inclusive and supportive workplace environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about logistics, customer service, and contributing to an essential national food distribution network, ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service every day.
