Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A commercial driver license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Availability for overnight travel up to 15%
- Strong time management skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- A valid Class A commercial driver license essential allowing operation of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating exceeding 26,000 pounds and towing trailers or other vehicles with a GVWR of over 10,000 pounds
- Clean driving record free of major violations such as DUI/DWI reckless driving or multiple moving violations
- Previous experience as a Class A driver preferred though some employers may provide training for new drivers
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects sometimes up to 50 pounds or more and perform tasks such as loading and unloading freight
- Knowledge of and adherence to Department of Transportation regulations regarding hours of service vehicle maintenance and safety inspections
- Exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures while operating a delivery vehicle
Job Duties
- Safely transport deliver and relocate products and materials as directed by supervisor
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of products and materials adhering to security requirements
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as mandated
- Promptly inform supervisor of any maintenance or safety concerns
- Operate company vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and local traffic laws prioritizing safety
- Maintain accurate driver logs as per DOT regulations
- Keep the vehicle in good operational condition and cleanliness
- Immediately report any accidents citations or incidents to the supervisor
- Submit necessary reports and dispatch paperwork punctually
- Adhere to all safety protocols participate in mandatory safety meetings and use personal protective equipment as necessary
