Currently, Xerox Corporation is seeking a Delivery Driver / Installation Specialist to join their team supporting the Greater San Antonio areas. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime. In this role, the Delivery Driver / Installation Specialist is pivotal in ensuring smooth logistics and excellent customer service, responsible for the loading, securing, delivery, and basic setup of equipment. The role requires coordination with shop and warehouse teams, emphasizing cooperation and communication to maintain efficient workflow. Truck drivers executing this role are entrusted with the responsibility of safely operating automatic box trucks, adhering to all transportation laws, maintaining the vehicle’s condition through daily inspections, and managing the necessary paperwork linked to deliveries and removals.
In addition to driving duties, the specialist supports customers by installing equipment such as copiers, printers, and multi-function devices, connecting peripherals, and ensuring these devices pass paper correctly. Basic customer training is also part of the job scope, ensuring clients understand how to operate their new technology. Technical responsibilities include connecting equipment to network cables and fax lines, underscoring the role’s technical and customer-facing aspects. Flexibility is vital, as occasional overnight stays may be required to meet client and company needs. Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs, push, pull, or roll copiers on flat ground and inclines
- Ability to use smartphones and tablets, GPS for navigation, Google Maps when necessary
- Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience driving a 16’ to 26’ box delivery truck preferred
- Basic mechanical understanding preferred
- Experience using smartphones, tablets, GPS navigation and Google Maps
- Experience using Microsoft applications and the Internet
- Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Operate an automatic box truck in a safe and timely manner including daily inspection of the vehicle
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
- Load, deliver, install and collect equipment at various customer locations
- Provide excellent customer service
- Be flexible with overnight stays to meet client and company needs
- Work in team environment with other truck drivers and warehouse personnel
- Perform all paperwork for deliveries and removals
- Unload trucks same day and load for the next day
- Connect printer peripherals so that Multi-Function Devices and Printer deliveries can pass paper
- Provide basic customer training on copiers, printers and other office technology equipment
- Perform general technical duties such as connecting equipment to network cables and fax lines
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse when needed
