Glazing Saddles is an established and respected distributor of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, playing a critical role in delivering fresh, high-quality products to wholesale customers and Krispy Kreme tunnel shops. This Driver position is a full-time role focused on delivering Krispy Kreme products while providing excellent service to wholesale customers. The Driver serves as the face of Krispy Kreme during each delivery, responsible not only for transporting doughnuts safely and efficiently but also for merchandising product displays at customer accounts and handling cash payments where applicable. An essential part of this role is to maintain a professional appearance, including adherence to uniform guidelines, and to consistently demonstrate friendly and courteous customer interactions.
The role involves driving company vehicles, such as box trucks or vans, and requires someone with a clean driving record who is familiar with GPS navigation systems and can manage deliveries both during daylight and night hours. The Driver is also expected to pick up unsold products, issue appropriate credits, and report any discrepancies or route suggestions to management. Attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks independently are crucial for success in this position.
Beyond delivery duties, the Driver assists in maintaining delivery vehicle upkeep and cleanliness, ensuring that all safety and food handling standards are strictly followed according to Krispy Kreme’s Food Safety Program and HACCP plans. Job Requirements
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
- Operate a company box truck or van during daylight and night hours
- Demonstrate safety consciousness at all times
- Maintain a professional appearance including issued uniform and dress code
- Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally overhead
- Must be able to push or pull carts weighing up to 250 pounds
- Ability to drive safely and efficiently
- Report all incidents and equipment failures timely
- Adhere to all company policies and act as a role model in policy adherence
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Ability to make simple mathematical calculations
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work with minimal onsite supervision
- Ability to understand and utilize GPS navigation
- Ability to operate handheld devices and printers
- Ability to merchandise food displays
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to count and collect monies securely from customer accounts
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and hand truck dolly
Job Duties
- Greet customers with a sincere smile and listen carefully to their needs
- Maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor
- Maintain a clean, neat Glazing Saddles issued uniform at all times
- Drive to each customer safely and efficiently
- Deliver doughnuts on time
- Pick up any doughnuts from the previous day and issue credits if appropriate
- For COD accounts, pick up cash payment for doughnuts at the time of delivery
- Secure cash payments and settle with manager once the route is finished
- Communicate any errors or route changes to management
- Assist in maintaining delivery vehicles and store cleanliness
- Follow Krispy Kreme food safety standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned
