The Driver role at PHC is a vital position responsible for the timely and secure delivery of sensitive nuclear pharmacy products to designated medical clients. This role is hourly, paying $18.00 per hour, and reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager. Drivers primarily operate delivery vehicles on predetermined routes to various healthcare facilities, ensuring that all products arrive in optimal condition and in compliance with safety regulations.

The Driver’s responsibilities extend beyond transport to include customer service liaison duties, product unloading, returns acceptance, inventory tracking, vehicle maintenance checks, and adherence to strict operating procedures. The role requires an individual with excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various operational and customer-focused tasks under dynamic conditions. Additionally, DOT training and certification are prerequisites for the position.

Candidates must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts based on business needs. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are essential due to lifting requirements and the need to maintain long periods of standing, walking, or sitting throughout shifts. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid state driver’s license
  • clean driving record
  • ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions
  • ability to efficiently plan routes and exhibit proper driving etiquette
  • ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • prior driving or delivery experience preferred
  • must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including overtime and on-call
  • may be required to pass physical fitness assessment
  • ability to comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely delivery of nuclear pharmacy products to predetermined customers on specific routes while meeting internal schedule and quality standards
  • follows map directions to locate delivery locations efficiently
  • unloads products as per client specifications while providing excellent customer service
  • acts as a customer service liaison for the company, treating all customers with respect and assisting in resolving complaints
  • accepts returns from clients where applicable
  • breaks down delivery cases, disposes of radioactive materials, and sanitizes lead pigs
  • completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries and returns
  • maintains cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and facility
  • assists with stocking products and tracking inventory
  • performs routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on vehicles
  • reports vehicle maintenance issues promptly
  • follows standard operating procedures
  • complies with all safety standards and regulations
  • obtains required DOT training and certification
  • works various shifts based on location needs
  • performs other related duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager
