We are currently seeking passionate Seasonal Deli/Food Service employees who thrive in working with food and enjoy meeting and exceeding customers' needs. This position offers an hourly wage of $18.00, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals who love working in high-volume, fast-paced environments. Buc-ee's embraces both seasoned professionals familiar with the hustle of restaurant food service as well as enthusiastic beginners willing to learn, as the company provides comprehensive training to equip every employee with the necessary skills. Seasonal hires will contribute from May 1st through September 8th, with opportunities to rotate through various stations including BBQ, baked goods, sandwiches, tacos, jerky, and a multitude of food types that showcase the diversity of Buc-ee's menu.
As a Seasonal Deli/Food Service employee, you will have the opportunity to develop culinary skills by preparing bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other menu items, all according to Buc-ee's proprietary recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality for every customer. The role demands dedication to adhering strictly to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, guaranteeing safe food handling practices at all times. You will also become competent in operating different technological tools such as Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management Systems, and transaction devices, which are integral to ensuring smooth and efficient order processing.
Your workstation will be maintained with cleanliness and organization while you quickly execute orders, demonstrating your ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality. Effective communication with store management and teammates will be essential as you collaborate to meet customer expectations. Proficiency in the safe use of various kitchen equipment—including floor mixers, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers—is a key element of this position. Teamwork and professionalism are critical as you interact with colleagues and customers alike, contributing to a positive environment.
The role requires flexibility, including working weekends, holidays, and potentially rotating shifts between days and nights. Employees must also be prepared to occasionally step beyond their usual duties to assist where needed, supporting the overall success of the store during busy periods. Regular and punctual attendance is expected, and the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation is necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Restaurant or retail experience preferred including kitchen line cook, busser, server, expediter, service staff experience
- Ability to perform prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g. product or material weighing 40 lbs or more)
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties
- Develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
- Prepare Buc-ee's unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Guarantee safe food handling
- Competent use of various Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management System, and transaction devices
- Maintain a clean workstation while quickly executing orders for customers
- Provide responsive communication with store management and fellow associates
- Safely and effectively use a wide variety of kitchen equipment and appliances including floor mixer, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers
- Professionally interact with team members and customers
- Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed
- Work weekends and holidays as needed
- Work a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night
